125 This is from Graduation Day at the Animal Medical Center (a large veterinary specialty hospital in Manhattan). Virginia was one of our residents (studying to be a veterinary anatomic pathologist). This is the crew of the Anatomic Pathology Dept circa 2007 or so. (this text will be pulled into its own PDF)
126 Virginia would design henna patterns on our hands when we had combined cooking/henna/knitting parties. She would do these free hand!! Our work crew was multi-ethnic and we would gather for dumpling parties, to learn how to make Trinidadian dishes such as paratha roti, curry, coconut fudge, etc. Out of all of us, she would be the one to take these sometimes complex labor-intensive recipes and put them into her regular cooking rotation at home.

128 Pattern manipulation for her tank. When she lost weight she no longer needed the fuller-bust-bump. She asked me how to deal with it, and then triumphantly showed me that was exactly what she’d done. see 88-93

147 and 148 are actually knitted, not crocheted lace. That was a machine-made fabric she got when her mum destashed her sewing stuff when she retired. Nebs loved it when she pulled it out, so she wanted to hem it into a cat blanket, but I’m not sure she followed up on that plan. Mom destashed her thread to me when she gave me some fabric…Though one of the fabrics she gave me is this weird lace fabric that crocheted? out of thick cotton yarn? I don’t know. it’s REALLY weird. Part of this Stash of Weirdness (which, to be fair also has really good stuff) is some very nice stabilized jersey that’s printed with….turkeys. (Asia): This is a knit, I can follow single strands. There’s rib and eyelet lace and that makes it a little confusing, but it’s knitted ~47 inches (120 cm) wide X 106 inches (269 cm) long. Nebs really likes it. See also 194

it’s not delicate lace…it’s like…an afghan? but not a blanket (no finished edges), it’s yardage of fabric.
